Fireside Meditation. Wednesday Evenings January through May, 7:00-9:00pm. Join contemporary spiritual teacher, meditation teacher, and author, John E. Welshons, for this long-awaited, unique, and unprecedented series of meditation classes in front of the fireplace in the beautiful living room of Van Vleck House. Each Wednesday evening, participants will learn and practice a new form of Mindfulness Meditation. These classes are open to beginners and experienced practitioners, and offer an opportunity to learn from a highly experienced meditation teacher, and to experience mediation in a supportive group setting. Each class will also include discussions on how to integrate meditation practice into daily life. "How do I get relief from my mind's incessant chatter?," "How do I convert every aspect of my life into fuel for awakening and finding inner peace?" These discussions will focus on material from John's highly-acclaimed new book, One Soul, One Love, One Heart: The Sacred Path to Healing All Relationships. 1st Session: Five Wednesday Evenings: Jan. 13, 2010 - Feb. 10, 2010. Welshons ("Ramananda"), is a beloved mediation teacher, gifted counselor and inspiring lecturer who has been practicing Vipassana Meditation and various forms of Yoga for more than forty years. He is the author of One Soul, One Love, One Heart: The Sacred Path to Healing All Relationships. He also authored the critically-acclaimed books Awakening from Grief and When Prayers Aren't Answered. He has worked extensively with Ram Dass and Stephen Levine, and trained with Dr. Elisabeth Kubler-Ross. He holds a B.A. in Comparative Religions and an M.A. in history of Religions. He has traveled extensively in India, and is one of our culture's most honored and respected authorities on how to use life's challenges as fuel for our spiritual journey.
